Let me start by saying a big thank you for joining my class! Whether it’s been online or in person, I get the pleasure of teaching because you all show up!
YOGA WORKSHOP 15th – 17th July 2022
Let’s get the Summer off to a Sunny Start with a Weekend of Yoga
Here are the details,
Location: Light on You Yoga, Suite 4, Burlees House, Hangingroyd Lane, Hebden Bridge, HX77DD
The cost will be £130.00
The workshop will include Asana and Pranayama practice, in a fully equipped studio. Food x lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
Friday 15th July 7pm-9pm
Saturday 16th July 10am-4pm including lunch
Sunday 17th July 10am-4pm including lunch
What’s New
I’m really excited!!! As Kate will be catering for lunches on Saturday and Sunday. It will lovely to spend time enjoying freshly made delicious prepared food together, (2 x lunches are included in with price of the workshop) with time to let your food settle, you can sit and chat, relax or take a stroll before the afternoon session will continue.
Workshops are taught at a slower pace than a regular class, this offers the opportunity for clear demonstration, explanation of the where the postures focus is and then discussion. This allows you time for recovery in between poses and helps you have a clearer understanding of the postures, along with confidence when doing your own practice.
Please contact me at lightonyouyoga@gmail to book a place.
If you need accommodation, you might consider Hebden Bridge Hostel, prices start from £25 pp pn.

Zoom has opened up the possibility of meeting new and seeing old students and has also allowed friends and family to join in.
My classes will continue in this hybrid/blended manner, but I do hope that those of you (whenever the opportunity presents itself) will be open to joining me back in the lovely studio space.
If you haven’t already been to the room in Burlees house, it is well ventilated and fully equipped room, so no need to carry any equipment with you (however, you are obviously welcome to bring your own if you would prefer).
Earthing
I recently watched a film called Earthing about the benefits of connecting with the earth. You can check it out here:
As you know, I love a bit of “hippiness”, so I couldn’t help considering this in relation to yoga. Before the pandemic, I couldn’t have imagined Iyengar Yoga being brought to us via screens and technology but now, I have two classes a week online from the RIMYI in India – alongside my weekly in person teachers class at MDIY. I really appreciate being taught and having the privilege of teaching online, I do feel that connecting with people in a shared space, for me, feels essential. It somehow fills and nourishes my soul.
Not to mention, when I’m taking a zoom class at home, with the best will in the world… I’m distracted by what’s happening downstairs, (usually, it’s something quite insignificant, like… the washer has finished, should I go and switch it off now? )
While teaching, at the beginning of class you may have heard me say, ‘leave whatever has been going on for you outside the room, that this is the gift to yourself of your time to do yoga’, that thoughts may come, just accept them and let them go, don’t pursue or hold on to them. The aim is to practice bringing your awareness back to the present moment and what you are doing on your mat. This is not always easy, especially for me when I’m at home but with all of that said, I hope to see you live in person sometime!
